As I stood inside the courtroom

With a hush the crowd awaited

To receive the words he’d say

A finality was pressing
A irrevogabilidade pressionava
Like no other day

To reveal my destination
A revelar meu destino.
That was what I soon would know

To eternity, where was I to go?

When the time came for the verdict
Quando chegou a hora do veredito,
The anticipation rose
A antecipação cresceu;
But the people knew too well
Mas as pessoas sabiam muito bem
The path in life they chose
O caminho que escolheram na vida:
Those who had not cared to answer
Os que não se preocuparam em responder
When in life he gave the call
Quando na vida Ele enviou o chamado,
Or had known his grace and love
Ou conheceram Sua graça e amor
Only to fall
Apenas para então cair…

But as he looked in my direction
Mas quando Ele olhou em minha direção
I was not afraid
Eu não tive medo,
‘Cause the nailed-scarred hands

Were there defending me
Estavam lá pra me defender!
But then he rose to give the answer

As we bowed unto the Lord

He said “Well done my child,

Great is your reward”
