Just a few hours after the sunrise,

On the resurrection day,

Two men from Emmaus walked and talked along their way;

When all of a sudden from out of nowhere,

Came a One that seemed to be so wise;

Unbeknownst to either,

They were talking with the Christ.

On the road to Emmaus they met Jesus,

And He came and spoke to them;

He opened the Scripture,

So their eyes could plainly see;
para que seus olhos vissem claramente
That He was the Only God, Jehovah,
que Ele era o Único Deus, Jeová,
Conquering death at Calvary;
que venceu a morte no Calvário.

Grant that I may walk with Thee.
certamente eu também posso andar Contigo!

From out of the Scriptures,

And he teaches me the word;
